CHEP certified as a Top Employer in Europe for second year in a row

CHEP, the supply chain solutions company, has been certified as a 2019 Top Employer in Europe following accreditation in the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Poland and Ireland by the Top Employers Institute (TEI), a global certifier recognising excellence in employee conditions. Companies needed to get at least 5 countries certified to get Top Employer Europe status.

David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute, said: “CHEP belongs to a very exclusive global community of Top Employers and it’s continuously showing great achievements. It is a company focused on high quality, not only regarding their products or safety standards, but also by ensuring exciting career prospects for their employees in their worldwide locations, attracting the best talent with outstanding conditions and making continuous efforts to develop their people and open up their opportunities.”

TEI only awards this certification to organisations that achieve the highest standards of excellence in employee conditions. Following validation and an external audit, performance scores are rated against an international standard. The programme recognises leading employers around the world by assessing employee offerings across nine topics:

  • Talent Strategy
  • Workplace Planning
  • On-boarding
  • Learning & Development
  • Performance Management
  • Leadership Development
  • Career & Succession Management
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Culture

Ruediger Heim, Vice President, Human Resources, CHEP EMEA, said: “We are delighted to be certified as a Top Employer for the second year in a row. We recognise that engaging and enabling our employees to make them proud of what they do is not only key to our success, but also key to the success of our customers and shareholders. At CHEP, we always focus on our people first and our efforts and investment in our workforce have been recognised again in Europe and now also in South Africa and India.”

CHEP is driven to develop individuals’ careers, grow their skillset and support them throughout their journey with the company. It does this by providing best-in-class learning & development programmes and tools, as well as attractive mobility opportunities. CHEP’s Commercial Academy was recently awarded “Learning Programme of Excellence” by the Learning & Performance Institute (LPI).

Thomas Allmark, Director, Inclusion and Diversity, CHEP EMEA, said: “Every CHEP employee is given the opportunity to develop their career in a multinational and multicultural company. I think this Top Employer award recognises our efforts to make the most of our incredibly diverse talent and to create an environment where everyone feels enabled to contribute to our success. The diversity of our people reflects the diversity of our business and the customers we serve.
