With this recognition, CHEP becomes the only supply chain company to achieve the top rating for four years in a row.<\/p>\n<p>This Gold Level was awarded to CHEP Europe for its environmentally conscious development and achievements in areas concerning the Environment, Labour Practices, Fair Business Practices and Supply Chain.<\/p>\n<p>EcoVadis\u2019 methodology is built on international Corporate Social Responsibility standards including the Global Reporting Initiative, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unglobalcompact.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">United Nations Global Compact<\/a> and the ISO 26000, covering 150 spend categories and 140 countries. EcoVadis assesses 35,000 suppliers from 99 countries across 150 business sectors.<\/p>\n<p>CHEP is part of the Brambles Limited Group, a supply chain solutions business that was ranked within the top positions in its global category (Commercial Services and Supplies) on the 2018 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainability-indices.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dow Jones Sustainability Index<\/a>. This recognition is the result of Brambles implementing the circular economy at a global scale. The company is also a signatory to the UN\u2019s Global Compact and has 2020 Sustainability Goals that are closely aligned with the United Nations\u2019 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n<p>Juan Jos\u00e9 Freijo, Brambles\u2019 Global Head of Sustainability, said: \u201cWe are extremely proud to receive yet another recognition for our efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility. CHEP helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organisation on earth. That is why we can make a real contribution to a smarter, more sustainable future. Together, we are striving to create a \u2018Better Planet, Better Business and Better communities\u2019, which are the three pillars of our Sustainability programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing socially responsible is at the heart of everything we do. As pioneers of the circular economy, our work has always eliminated waste throughout the supply chain. It protects our forests and reduces landfill. We recognise that sharing and reusing our finite resources is the right thing for society. \u00a0Only last year our activities have reduced 1.4 megatons of waste and saved 1.7 million trees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoreover, we have an extensive volunteering programme, in which our employees can spend three working days per year on different volunteering activities.
