Blazing fast all-flash NAS for intensive I\/O applications<\/p>\n

Taipei, Taiwan\u2014April 27, 2017\u2014Synology\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0today launched FlashStation FS2017, a high performance and scalable NAS server designed for enterprises. Capable of handling over 90,000 IOPS in 4K random writing, FS2017 is perfect for big data analysis, video post-production, virtualization, and\u00a0any demanding database application that requires high IOPS and low latency at the same time.<\/p>\n

FS2017 features an Intel Xeon 8-core processor and 16GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM (expandable up to 128GB), guaranteeing high\u00a0performance in multitasking and data throughput. The multi-LAN design of four native 1GbE and dual 10GBase-T ports,\u00a0combined with\u00a0the optional 10GbE \/ 25GbE \/ 40GbE NIC support,\u00a0enables\u00a0FS2017\u00a0to\u00a0maximize bandwidth and meet high requirements for data-intensive applications.<\/p>\n

“Due to the peculiarities of SSD and RAID technology, a common challenge lies in how to prevent all drives from failing at the same time because of the evenly distributed workload,” said Jason Fan, Product Manager at Synology Inc. “The\u00a0RAID F1\u00a0feature\u00a0offered by\u00a0FS2017 alleviates this problem with a specially designed algorithm to unevenly distribute workload to\u00a0different\u00a0drives, thus enhancing the resilience of the storage pool and ensuring data\u00a0security.”<\/p>\n

FS2017 runs on Synology’s award-winning NAS operating system DSM, with built-in Snapshot Replication which creates 65,000 backup copies to offsite servers, and an inclusive virtualization solution that incorporates VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, and OpenStack integration. With Windows ACL, Windows\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0AD,\u00a0and LDAP integration support, FS2017 will soon become the go-to choice for large-scale businesses.<\/p>\n
