The North Face hosts a one-night, all-night outdoor exploration festival<\/p>\n
On September 12, 2015, The North Face\u00ae brings a new way to experience the great outdoors with a one-night, all-night festival of exploration. The first The North Face\u00ae Night Ray Outdoor Fest, presented by Jeep\u00ae, will be held in Gorges du Verdon, France. It is an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts with insatiable curiosity to go on an overnight adventure with The North Face\u00ae athletes. Guests get to experience the lesser-known side of the canyon, and witnessing its transformation from dusk till dawn in an active way.<\/p>\n
The North Face\u00ae Night Ray Outdoor Fest encourages people to experience the beautiful Gorges du Verdon through a different lens, by trying a variety of outdoor activities such as climbing, trail running, and hiking at night.\u00a0 Known as Europe\u2019s Grand Canyon, the Gorges du Verdon is reputed as the most beautiful river canyon in Europe. It forms a 21km long border between the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Var, and is 1000m deep in places. The river is a shining turquoise ribbon winding through Haute-Provence\u2019s limestone plateau, creating an awe-inspiring view. The narrow canyon bottoms rise up into a dizzying 700m, slightly more than twice the height of the Eiffel Tower. Largely unexplored until the 20th<\/sup> century, the landscape feels untouched and rugged, and the air is fragrant with wild lavender, thyme and rosemary. Under the protection of Parc Naturel Regional du Verdon, the area is a wildlife lovers\u2019 paradise, with its very own colony of griffon vultures.<\/p>\n The North Face\u00ae<\/strong>\u2019s athletes will be present to lead the outdoor activity sessions, and share their epic tales of adventure around a custom-built interactive campfire. Aside from sporting activities, the festival will also feature movie screening under the stars, and celebrations with live music.
