The North Face\u00ae is proud to announce the final program for the third edition of the The North Face\u00ae Kalymnos Climbing Festival. This edition takes a refreshing approach with the invitation of various Sport Climbing legends that were at the forefront of the sport in the 1980s and 1990s.<\/p>\n

Representing nations from around the globe, Sport Climbing legends will join fellow climbers for four days of all things climbing. They can be acknowledged as the original explorers of this discipline and the pioneers in the development of modern Sport Climbing. Among the climbing legends are John Dunne (United Kingdom), Jean-Baptiste Tribout (France), Yuji Hirayama (Japan), Beat Kammerlander (Austria), Maurizio \u2018Manolo\u2019 Zanolla (Italy), Gerhard H\u00f6rhager (Austria) and Patxi Arocena (Spain).<\/p>\n

The North Face\u00ae Kalymnos Climbing Festival offers an action packed program that includes the annual climbing marathon competition open to all climbers of any level, a Legends Story Telling Night, the climbers\u2019 beach party and a Deep Water Soloing Boat Trip with The North Face\u00ae athletes. With sunshine in abundance, breathtaking routes on limestone rocks and amazing sea views, the festival will ensure the attendance of some of the world’s best athletes and re-create the same unique atmosphere that was already established in the first two editions.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s festival includes a new initiative by The North Face\u00ae. For each registered attendee, the company will replace one potentially unsafe bolt on the island for a new one. This is part of the \u20181 climber = 1 bolt\u2019 initiative, with which The North Face\u00ae and its athletes want to give something back to the island and its community. This will enable safe climbing on the crags of Kalymnos for many years to come.<\/p>\n

The North Face\u00ae Kalymnos Climbing Festival takes place on the sun drenched island of Kalymnos, Greece, from 9th till 12th October 2014 and will be supported By JEEP\u00ae for the third successive year.<\/p>\n
